| Life in Tioga County, Pennsylvania and Surrounding Areas |
Tioga County provides a sense of community, nestled in the rolling
hills of Pennsylvania’s Northern Tier. The rural county exudes a feeling
of peace, rest and relaxation. For the outdoorsman, we have three State
Parks, two Federal Parks and seven lakes. These areas, along with the
picturesque Pennsylvania Grand
Canyon, offer miles of trails for hiking, biking, boating, rafting,
canoeing and horseback riding throughout the county.
Tioga County also hosts many festivals throughout the year; see VisitTiogaPA.com for a
current calendar of events. Each June, the Pennsylvania State Laurel
Festival is held in downtown Wellsboro, the county seat. In other boroughs
around the county we have 1890’s Weekend, Blossburg Coal Festival, Liberty
Blockhouse Festival and Dickens of a
Christmas.
The future I-99 Corridor, currently U.S. Route 15, runs through the
county from north to south, providing direct access to I-80 and I-86.
Tioga County is connected from the East Coast to the West Coast along
scenic U.S. Route 6. For more information about the area's economic
development initiatives, see the TiogaCountyPA.us
